Adv. Studio: MUMI

With Mare Island where do you see it in the next 100 years? Will you see it with flying cars and with robot dogs? Truth of the matter is that Mare Island will be engulfed by the sea level rise. This is caused by the solar ice caps melting from global warming. By doing so, it will cause the sea level rise and will make Mare Island even smaller of an island. With that in mind, we designed Mare Island to be ready for this cause and to be able to sustain itself by preemptive flooding the area. This will cause Mare Island to have a higher housing value, reduction of insurance cost, and communal programs, such as kayaking, fishing, swimming and etc. Not only that, but Mare Island would be able to become a docking area for fisher men and large cargo ships to better increase the income of the area. By doing so, we revitalized Mare Island from what it was and bringing the value of the land to a much higher cost. 

The first 6 boards of the master plan were completed with 3 others members. They were the following: Ruddy Chavez, Dennis Huang, and Welbert Bonilla. 

In the beginning of this course, we entered for a competition called MUMI. The sad result was that the competition was taken down because of inefficient amount of funds.
